We love our pets- so much that it can be hard to leave them behind. A new tool allows pet owners to keep tabs on their furry friends wherever they may be. Petcube is a WiFi-enabled webcam device that can be controlled remotely through a web browser. Using a smartphone or computer, you can change the direction of the camera, talk to your pet and even play with them. Of course, what probably won’t show up in your Petcube video feed are the many bacteria crawling all over the place. A study found that dog-owners homes contain more bacteria- and more different types of bacteria- than homes without pups. The good news is, most of the bugs researchers found aren’t harmful (in fact, they might provide some health benefits). Still, experts recommend washing your hands after playing with your pet.
