According to TMZ, one employee said they were paid through Wednesday and got vacation pay along with two weeks severence, adding that the whole ordeal was hurtful since so many UB employees stuck up for Paula and brother Bubba at the height of last year's n-word controversy.  This employee said some patrons threw food at them and they still defended Paula!

It was short and not so sweet.  This morning's facebook post by Uncle Bubba's Seafood & Oyster House:

"Thank you for 10 great years. Uncle Bubba's is now closed."

Uncle Bubba's is owned by Savannah chef and former Food Network star Paula Deen and her brother Bubba Heirs.  According to a comment beneath the FB post, employees found out about the closure when they showed up for work today.

Business appeared to be good for Uncle Bubba's.  We don't know yet why the restaurant has been closed.

Uncle Bubba's was named in a sexual harassment lawsuit last year.  The suit was later dropped, but not before revelations from Paula Deen's deposition caused her food empire to nearly collapse.
