The first annual Safe Kids Savannah Youth Triathlon presented by Chatham County will take place at 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 7. Registration is now open for the swim, bike, and run event that will be geared toward youth ages 9 to 14. To register, go to www.active.com.
Participants ages 9 to 10 will swim 50 yards, bike 3.1 miles, and run 1.5 miles; participants ages 11 to 12 will swim 150 yards, bike 6.2 miles, and run 1.5 miles; and participants ages 13 to 14 will swim 300 yards; bike 6.2 miles, and run 1.5 miles. The triathlon will take place in and around the Chatham County Aquatic Center and Lake Mayer in Savannah. Packet pick-up along with bike inspections will take place on Friday, September 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Aquatic Center. In addition to online registration, triathlon applications are also available at Chatham County Aquatic Center located at 7240 Sallie Mood Drive or Fleet Feet Sports located at 3405 Waters Avenue in Savannah.
